Frequently asked questions

How do I restore my purchase?

On the home screen, tap the settings wheel (top right) and, under Sand Mandala Full, choose Restore purchases. It is also on the purchase sheet. Use the same Apple Account you bought with.

Can I share Sand Mandala Full with my family?

Yes. The purchase is shared with Family Sharing: members of your family group get it without paying again. If it doesn't show up for someone, they can use Restore purchases with their own Apple Account.

What do I need to use it?
  • An iPad with iPadOS 17.6 or later.
  • Alarms with the bowls need iPadOS 26.
  • For an alarm to ring with a piece from the library or one of your recordings you need iPadOS 27; before that, alarms ring with the wake-up melodies.
Why is the alarm louder (or quieter) than the app?

Alarms ring at the Ringtone and Alerts volume (Settings → Sounds), not the music volume. The volume buttons only change it if “Change with Buttons” is turned on there. They ring even when the iPad is silenced.

How does falling asleep work?

In a scene, choose Fall asleep and how long: 15 or 30 minutes for free; 45 or 60 minutes, until the alarm or all night with Sand Mandala Full. A slow bowls piece plays (or the scene alone, if you prefer), the screen darkens and, at the end, the sound fades out gently. To stop sooner, hold your finger on the scene.

What is See the Sound?

It’s the bars button at the top right of the bowls. As you play, it shows each bowl’s partials along the bottom and, between the last two bowls you struck, the figure they draw together: the simpler it is, the better they sound together, and if it turns, they are beating. It’s free.

How do I play the bowls in the scenes?

Touch anywhere on the scene: the bowl nearest your finger sounds, and a ring of its colour appears where you touched. Each scene answers in its own way: the moon’s path, ripples on the pond, the plankton… The first three times you open the scenes, you can see where each bowl is.
